Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), widely known as HAU, is one of the most prestigious agricultural universities of Asia. Since its inception in 1970 CCSHAU has earned a name for itself as a symbol of quality at both the national and international levels. The College of Agriculture, Kaul was established in 1974 as one of the constituent colleges of CCSHAU, Hisar. It is situated on the outskirts of village Kaul in district Kaithal of Haryana. The college has a lush green campus for bachelors & masters studies. Our excellent infrastructure provides the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused teaching-learning for students, teachers and scientists. The campus also has a pioneer Rice Research Station (RRS) whose main aim is to develop and release the new varieties of rice. I am immensely pleased to know that the COA Kaul has come up with new website of college. I am confident that this website will be useful in disseminating information about our college to a wider audience on a variety of occasions and will help all the students, parents, faculties & farmers.

The College of Agriculture, Kaul imparts quality education in Agriculture to under-graduate and post-graduate students. The college offers B.Sc (Hons.) Ag. 4 years programme after 10+2 science stream and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agronomy, Genetics & Plant Breeding and Soil science. The College has well-equipped laboratories, modern class rooms with LCD facilities and an auditorium with a seating capacity of about 200 persons. The college has 20 faculty members in different disciplines of Agriculture. Quality education is imparted by the dedicated and competent faculty in different disciplines of agriculture and allied fields. Teacher-taught relation in the college is unique on the lines of our ancient Gurukul pattern which is very important in inculcating moral values in the students. The college provides an atmosphere for healthy academic activities as well as for all-round growth of students. The education system in college provides a great deal of openness, transparency and flexibility. Apart from teaching, the college is also involved in research and extension. The college has well equipped laboratories where students perform experiments and get practical knowledge. Scientists are also potential users of these laboratories. It has a well equipped computer center with internet facility. I am confident that the College will foster and grow its students into human resources with a diverse perspective, comprehensive professional knowledge, and a strong human character capable of sustaining our future.

The College of Agriculture (COA) Kaul was earlier associated with Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and with the inception of HAU it became an integral part of CCSHAU. In addition to academic and curricular activities, the college offers co-curricular opportunities to its students. There are good play grounds, students activities centre, NSS and NCC units for all-round development of the students through various co-curricular activities. For acquiring academic and professional excellence, apart from class room, teaching and laboratory practicals, students are exposed to one year practical crop production and six months Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana (READY) programme. Emphasis is also laid on agro-based skill oriented activities viz. organic farming, sustainable agriculture, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, vermicomposting, dairying, horticulture etc. The study tours and exposure visits to progressive and innovative farmers’ fields is also an integral part of the curriculum. Till now, 1465 students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri. and 6 students of M.Sc. have completed their degrees from this college and are serving in universities, bank, armed forces, input industries, line departments, co- operative sector, public and private sectors. At present, 210 students including 106 girl students are pursuing B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. 4-year programme and 9 students are in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes.
